Description:
Monel 400 (nickel-copper alloy, UNS N04400 / W. Nr. 2.4360 and 2.4361) is a solid-solution alloy that can be hardened only by cold working. It has high strength and toughness over a wide temperature range and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Monel 400 is widely used in many fields, especially marine and chemical processing. Typical applications are valves and pumps, pump and propeller shafts, marine fixtures and fasteners, electrical and electronic components, springs, chemical processing equipment, gasoline and fresh water tanks, crude petroleum stills, process vessels and piping, boiler feedwater heaters and other heat exchangers, and de-aerating heaters.

Features:
1.Resistant to seawater and steam at high temperatures.
2.Excellent resistance to rapidly flowing brackish water or seawater.
3.Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking in most freshwaters.
4.Particularly resistant to hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids when they are de-aerated
5.Offers some resistance to hydrochloric and sulfuric acids at modest temperatures and concentrations, 6.but is seldom the material of choice for these acids.
7.Excellent resistance to neutral and alkaline salt.
8.Resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking.
9.Good mechanical properties from sub-zero temperatures up to 1020°F.
10.High resistance to alkalis.
